Richard and Lisa found us from the other side of the world in Sydney, Australia and following a few emails. We had our first ever Skype conversation we were booked in to perform at one of our favourite wedding venues. Priston Mill will always be a special place for us as its where our drummer Simon got married to Emily in 2015.
We arrived a little bit early at the venue so we had a bit of a work out. (Make sure you watch at 40 seconds in) 🙂
We loaded in our equipment as soon as the speeches finished and the room was empty. We’re very grateful to have Ed Scott on sound and helping us with all aspects of the show. He is making the process of setting up and sound checking is a lot easier.
We all thought Lisa looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress and everyone really enjoyed their first dance which was by ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ by James Arthur. (Just as a side note we played at James Arthurs wedding in 2014.)
We started off the show with some oldies and the dance floor was packed, it was a very hot night and there was a fantastic atmosphere. We played a few songs Richard and Lisa had chosen from our repertoire that we hadn’t played for a while.
Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones and Maggie May by Rod Stewart.
All of our clients comment on how they love our interaction at our performances. I always try to make the most of the space at a venue and make sure that everyone in the audience is included in the show. I even got behind the bar at one point! It makes the show more personal and people seem to like it.
We performed a few special requests from Lisa & Richard including Happy by Pharrell Williams and Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran which Tommy sang. Use Somebody by Kings of Leon in which the guests surrounded the newly weds. We had never played it before so we were pleased it was well received.
One of the other requests was Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, the video is just above.
It was a very special evening and we gave the show 100%.
Thank you to Lisa and Richard for choosing The Zoots as their wedding band.
Thank you so much to all The Zoots for a fantastic performance’ Tommy, Simon, Ben, Harriet and Ed.
