Today is Saturday the 4th of March and we’re off to Henley to perform at Badgemore Park to perform at the wedding of Claire and Simon! Claire was Jamie’s neighbour and they have been family friends since he was a baby, so we were really looking forward to performing them! We knew it was going to be a great night and we were looking forward to performing in front of lots of people we know. But we had to make sure we were going to put on a very special performance.

We arrived in Henley in good time and just had a quick peep into George Harrison’s old house Friar Park which is right next door to Badgemore Park.

We arrived in in good time, just as the guests were making their way upstairs for the delicious wedding breakfast which was about to be served. We had visited Badgemore a few weeks ago, when we met with Claire and Simon to check out the venue, see where we’d be loading in and getting changed, as well as running through plans and ideas and timings with Claire and Simon. We love to meet with people before the day, and visit the venue if we can, as it really helps to make everything run that little bit smoother on the day. It was so helpful getting a lay of the land, seeing where we would be performing, and knowing where to park the van before hand.

We managed to say hello to the newlyweds as we arrived. Claire looked just amazing in her dress. Claire and Simon have been engaged for 11 years, so there was a lot of anticipation for the wedding! We also managed to see our lovely friends Lisa & Jodie! Lisa is Claire’s sister, so Jamie has known her a long time too! Barry and Jackie (the brides parents) and all the family have been such a big part of Jamie’s life and have always been such a big support growing up.

We loaded in our equipment set up and sound-checked. It was great having so much space to set up in. Jamie was pretty nervous as it had to be a fab performance!

Claire and Simon had chosen lots of songs from our repertoire, including lots of classic rock songs, which we don’t always get to play that often, so we were looking forward to performing them. Simon and Claire had “Can’t take my eyes off you’ as their first dance and it was a lovely moment as everyone joined them on the dance floor. After a brilliant first set, we started the second set with a guest vocalist, the very talented Stevie Lange join us on stage for a couple of songs.

She was brilliant! She sang ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You‘ by Etta James and Midnight Hour. It was great fun, Stevie has an amazing voice and it was so brilliant to be able to perform with her. Stevie specialises in vocal coaching, vocal production and record production and has worked with loads of artists, including: Rita Ora, Jamie Cullum, Robbie Williams & Def Leppard. She has also sang backing vocals with Stevie Wonder and Elton John!

Time flew by so fast as everyone was dancing to every song and singing along to every song, the atmosphere was electric! It was great to see some familiar faces too!
