Wedding in Wiltshire
So this weekend has been preeeee-tay busy, but that’s how we like it. Last week we’re performing on the Allure of The Seas with our 1960s show. We arrived back yesterday to perform for Charlotte & Ian on their wedding day at Westonbirt House, it was brilliant. And today is the real cherry on the icing of our perfect weekend, we we’re performing at Ben, our lead guitarist’s, sisters wedding day!!! We been lucky enough to meet Tamzin and Dan at a few gigs over the years we’ve been playing with Ben, and we instantly loved them. So when they asked us The Zoots to perform at their wedding in Wiltshire, we jumped at the chance.
Ben tells his ‘Storey’ of the day:
“May 30th was the day my sister Tamzin married Dan and became Tamzin Storey.

The wedding party then journeyed to the wedding venue in a delightfully decorated traditional marquee and a milking parlour, just off the village green of Urchfont. We’d been to Urchfont a few weeks earlier and met with Will, the owner and organiser of the venue. He was so super wonderful and helpful. He also runs Green Farm events, and comes highly recommended from us!!
We were viewing the venue pre-marquee but it already looked beautiful. Nestled in the heart of Urchfont, tucked away just behind the green is this little retreat. This secluded orchard is where the wedding would be taking place. Will really was most accommodating and really did go massively out of his way to help us, which we really appreciated. We really cannot recommend Will and the team more highly, if you get a chance to work with or book these guys, do it!
The next time we saw the venue, it had a wonderful marquee which had just been beautifully decorated, it was full of people, furniture, bunting and cakes! It was lovely. The marquee was provided by those chaps at Vintage Marquees in Bath. I loved how the marquee had lots of window type areas, allowing lots of natural light to come flooding in. It was just perfect. I simply adored all of the handmade touches, the bunting, the present table, the tree, the flowers, the table runners, the cakes, the decorations, it was just wonderful. Tamzin and Dan really had thought of everything.

Here’s what happened in Ben’s words:
“Once everybody had arrived and settled in then came the speeches. They went in traditional order my dad Adrian doing his bit as father of the bride, Dan as husband and Jamie Grace as best man. All the speeches were both amusing, moving and full of love and I was enormously proud of all of them.”
We had to do an amazing set for the bride and groom. As Tamzin & Dan had seen us before, they knew what type of songs they would like us to play from our repertoire and had picked loadsa good ones.
We launched in to set one. We then took to the stage (after ensuring that Tamzin was in the marquee!) we launched into Help by The Beatles. To our delight everybody jumped into action on the dance floor and remained there for the rest of the evening. Everyone was singing and dancing and Ben had loads of cheers throughout the evening.
Stuart did and an excellent DJ set and then we came back on for an even better second set. Here is a video of Boys vs Girls dance off, I was most impressed with the father of the bride (Adrian) fantastic moves. See if you can spot him.
At the end we had a round tunnel of love for Tamz and Dan which was a lovely moment.
The night went so quick it was soon time to switch off the music, pack down and have a chat with the family. What a wonderful day it was.
We’re just so happy that Tamzin and Dan chose The Zoots to perform for them on their wedding day.
Lots of love,
Jamie, Harriet, Stu, Mike and Ben xx
