“Thanks again for playing at our wedding last Friday, it was amazing!! Tons of people commented on how much they enjoyed the music (and amazing variety in the setlist as well)…”
Steph and Laurence got in touch in May 2016 to see if The Zoots would be available to perform for them at their wedding.
We first met Laurence when they arranged to come and see us perform at 1960‘s festival in Westonbirt in 2016. They were by far the youngest people in the audience, so we recognised them straight away. It was great to meet them, and we’re so pleased our show gave them a flavour for what we could do. They liked it so much, they decided they would like to book The Zoots to be their band for their wedding. Fast forward a few months and we were proud to be performing for the lovely couple on their special day.
It was our second time at Clevedon Hall, and boy we we really hope it’s not our last time there! What an amazing place!
We were able to load in our equipment right away as the wedding breakfast was taking place in another room. It was windy out but our spirits were high as we loaded in to the fabulous room! We’d been in touch with the team at Clevedon Hall before the big day, to run trough plans, arrival times and set up. Ellie from Clevedon Hall had been so helpful, providing lots of information which really helps us to ensure that everything runs really smoothly on the day.
Clevedon Hall comprised of lots of rooms, and a cool mezzanine area where you could watch the dancing a party from above. My favourite room was the orangery. I love natural light and plants and this room had plenty of both! Set up went well, I love how awesome our Zoots logo looked behind the drum kit. We had a quick soundcheck after setting up, then headed to our dressing room.
We had a great dressing room to use whilst we were at Clevedon Hall. It was so nice to have somewhere we could sit, get changed relax, and have something to eat before our show.
Soon it was time for us to go on. Steph and Laurence had chosen some great songs from our repertoire for us to play. For their first dance, the couple were having a ‘group first dance’ to Jonny B Goode. It was great fun as everyone was up and dancing!
Here is a video from the first dance Johnny B Goode, Living on a prayer and the end of We are Young.
Set one went by so fast and before we knew it, we were back on for set two. We really enjoyed perform all of the songs Laurence and Steph had chosen from our repertoire.
We had such a great night.
We can’t thank Steph and Laurence enough for choosing us, The Zoots, to be the band for their wedding. Thank you to Ellie and the team at Clevedon Hall for being so welcoming, organised and helpful, we really appreciated it!
Lots of love,
The Zoots – Harriet, Jamie, Ben, Simon and Tommy,
Following our performance, we received this lovely email from Laurence and Steph. Thank you guys! You can read more of our testimonials here.
Just a quick one to say thanks again for playing at our wedding last Friday, it was amazing!! Tons of people commented on how much they enjoyed the music (and amazing variety in the setlist as well). Like I said on the night, the club classics mashup was maybe my favourite bit and I don’t even normally listen to that type of music. The last tune of the night was a great choice as well (we are young). The whole show was the ideal way to finish off the day. We’ll probably try and come along to one of your public gigs at some point in the future just as a chance to reminisce about it all.
Thanks so much Laurence & Steph”
