Last year The Zoots performed at Little Hadham for the Nest fundraiser which was a fantastic show. It was there we met Peter Williams and John Marshall who were attending the event. John enquired about The Zoots performing for his wife Christine’s 50th birthday party and we said YES!
John was great to deal with and it’s not very often you will book a band in your life so Harriet does make this alot easier as she can write emails very quickly, probably about 20 times faster that I can!
John, Christine and their family had done an amazing job decorating and transforming the out house and games room into a brilliant party venue for 100 guests. John and Christine are really lovely people and it wa fantastic to be involved in such a big occasion. They both made us feel so welcome and I really felt we were part of the celebrations.
We loaded our equipment in and set up for a soundcheck, it was a fairly small space but we managed to fit into the space really nicely. The party room had a great feel and was really nicely fixed up, ready for the guests.
After dinner was served The Zoots exploded onto the stage area and got the crowd going with some great dance music.
The Crowd were up and dancing and really enjoying it.
In the break Christine made an emotional speach as she was joined by her husband and her sons.
In the second half I got some of the crowd to partake in a limbo.
The party went on into the early hours and my favourite moment was when the whole party was jumping up and down in our dance medley. Everyone was rocking and the whole venue was electric.
A special thanks to Dan, Harriet, Ben and Simon for doing a great job.
Thank you too for reading!
Happy birthday Christine
