We met Anna and her family, husband Stuart, son Fraser and daughter Elizabeth when we performed on a cruise in 2015. We were sailing through the med having the best time! We performed in the theatre to a crowd of 1,500. When we asked for a volunteer, a small hand shot up, and young Fraser was chosen to join us on stage when we performed ‘Really Got Me & All Day and All Night‘. We gave him an inflatable guitar and he rocked out like a pro with our lead guitarist Ben. It was brilliant. Continue reading
The Zoots have been soooooo busy this year and have been away so much its been tough to keep up to date with all our news. We had a fantastic November and got to tour some fantastic places; Turkey, Croatia, Portugal, Italy and a brief trip to the Azores. We have some exciting times ahead, in December we are going to the UAE and Oman in the Middle East aswell as Holland, Belgium, Germany and France. To cap it all off we have a show in Cuba on New Years Eve!! Then to Jamaica early January! Lucky us!
Below is a picture of us being the first to arrive at T2 at about 4.00 am on a cold November morning on our way to Turkey. Travelling to all these warmer places makes winter so much better! Continue reading
Hello weekend, and hello sunshine, sort of. We’ve just returned from a few days overseas, flying to Serbia, then to Kotor, and back from Barcelona. We had a brilliant show in a 900 seater theatre, it was really great (read about it here). But now, were glad to be home. We had a productive practice yesterday, running through some harmonies and some new songs (watch this space). Today, though, were off to Bicester to perform for Kristi and Nick on their wedding day at The Tythe Barn.
Today we’re off to Lytham St Annes. Yes waaaaaaay up North. We’re perform at the Clifton Arms Hotel. Strangely, and genuinely unconnected, I’ve just been reading about how the Clifton Arms do a fabulous afternoon tea. So if you’re in Lytham, go there. We didn’t try it but the Internet says its really good. Continue reading
We arrived in Salerno, it was hot, it was sunny, it was glorious! We too a photo of us all before we left in a mirror. a Five-piece selfie. It’s not very good, we will keep practising to make it better. Salerno is in Italy, we took a photo by an Italian flag just to be sure. We didn’t know much about Salerno as we’ve been so busy (read about what we’ve been up to on our blog) so we didn’t have time to research it before we went. Thankfully Wikipedia filled us in on all we needed to know on our return. “Salerno is the main town close to the Amalfi Coast, and is mostly known for its Schola Medica Salernitana, the first medical school in the world.” (Source, WIkipedia) Continue reading
The past few weeks have been our busiest ever, it’s hard to know where to begin, or where we left off! August was very busy for The Zoots. It began when we flew to Santorini, we’ve never been there before but had heard tales of beauty and wonder!
We had a FEAST at Giraffe before departing at Heathrow Airport, and were welcomed to glorious sunshine when we touched down a few hours later. Continue reading
OK so July has flown by. We’ve been so so busy, but its been great. We’ve been very lucky to visit loads of cool places (did you read our blog about Norway?), and perform for some amazing couples. Last week we flew to Stockholm. We were performing with our 1960s show on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, ‘Brilliance of The Seas’. The day began with breakfast at Heathrow before boarding our flight bound for Stockholm.
We arrived in Stockholm, our hotel was awesome, really cool and modern. It was early evening when we arrived so we decided to take a stroll around the Old Town. It was a lovely evening. Continue reading
0700. 9th March 2014. Alarm sounds. Being musicians, we’re more night owls than early risers. Must.get.up….have a wedding fair to get to! Our second one this year, well second one ever! Jamie was going to be doing some singing at a Bournemouth wedding fair taking place the Green House Hotel. We’d love to take the whole band to perform at a wedding fair, but as we can be a rather loud lot, we thought it best to showcase The Zoots with lead singer & frontman Jamie Goddard singing with his acoustic guitar!
