This was a huge gig booked for The Zoots, not only was I was returning to my home town but we were performing for a very important Lady called Khunying Sasima Srivikorn!

Lady Sasima is an amazing woman from Thailand who has been a very successful business woman since the 1960s. She is most well known in the UK for being the Co Chairwoman of Reading Football Club.
When Lady Sasima made her speech we couldn’t believe how good she looked! She was elegant, stylish and very well spoken. We all thought she looked like she was in her 30’s, it really was astonishing.

believe charity, band South Wales, band cardiff, band cardiff city, band for charity ball, Anna bates, stuart bates, Fraser Bates, Cardiff City stadium, fraser bear bates,

I first met Anna-Louise, Stuart, Fraser and Elizabeth Bates with some of their extended family in 2015 on their holiday whilst The Zoots were performing our show on a cruise ship. Her son Fraser was the first ever volunteer we had perform on stage with the band for our theatre shows. Fraser was such a natural and we were so impressed with his performance on stage! We stayed in touch with Stuart and Anna and were delighted when we heard that Fraser started guitar lessons as he enjoyed playing with the band so much.

It was in December 2015 that we heard the tragic news that Stuart and Fraser had been hit by a car and killed. It was the most devastating news a wife and a mother could ever have. Fraser was however able to save 8 lives by donating his organs.

After a rehearsal early last September, I was chatting with Tommy’s lovely Aunt (Deb) who had just come back from a weekend at Twinwood Festival. Deb told me to contact the organisers at Twinwood as it would be an ideal place for The Zoots to play.
After a couple of phone calls; we had the organisers of Twinwood interested and they sent one of the team to see us perform at Goodwood Revival the following week. We put on a fab show at Goodwood and the next day we had an offer from Twinwood to headline the last day of the festival in 2017.  Continue reading

Following the success of last years show at Eastbourne Bandstand  we were really looking forward to returning this year. We had been working on the show to make sure it was even better than our debut show in 2016. We had some new costumes, new songs all in the spirit of the greatest decade of music, the 1960s. We were luckily enough to joined by Graham Huntley who took all these fantastic photos.

and in midlands, band for 60th, band for 70th, party band midlands, party band wiltshire, the zoots

We were excited to be performing at Eric Herd’s 60th Birthday party at his lovely house in the West Midlands. Eric is the owner of a company called ‘Farmfoods’  a Scottish family business which has been providing frozen foods since the 1960s. It was our second gig for the family having played at Amy’s Dads party in January. It was also our second time performing for Champions Agency who we joined at the start of the year. Lauren, Claire and the owner of the Champions John were all at the event, so we had to be good! We arrived in time to load in all our equipment round the side of the house and parked the van just outside. Lauren and Claire were kind enough to help us in with the gear, they both so helpful and cheerful! Thank you girls! There was a nice sized marquee in the garden with a stage and a nice bar in the corner. All ready to go!

Last year we were fortunate enough to perform at Liz and Ian’ s wedding in Somerset. It took place at Fernhill Farm the other side of Bristol. We had a great night, and relished our acoustic in the dark jam when the power went 10 minutes before the end!

It was fantastic wedding and whilst the lovely couple were on their honeymoon, they a received a call from Liz’s sister, Melanie and her partner, Dan. They were calling to see if The Zoots were available to perform for their wedding day in 2017! We said yes and the couple booked us in!
