I was lucky enough to grow up in the town of Maidenhead in Berkshire and ever since Norden Farm, Centre for the Arts was built in 2000, I have always wanted to play there. It was so close when I lived in Maidenhead, I used to walk to the venue and watch some of the live music events there. When I formed The Zoots, I hoped we’d, one day, perform at Norden Farm, and today was that day, The Zoots were finally playing at the venue a stone’s throw away from where the band was formed.
HURRAH IT’S SATURDAY THE 20TH OF MAY! We had the best time yesterday performing at The Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis (read the blog about it here) but today it is the wedding of Chris and Rachel and we’re REALLY EXCITED as they are big back to the future fans, and rumour has it, there will be a DeLorean making an appearance! Eeee.
Rachel and Chris were getting married at Lains Barn in Wantage so it was a fairly short drive from Zoots HQ to the Barn. Rachel had spotted us at her hen do at The Beacon, Wantage last year. (remember that? What an awesome show that was!). We were just so pleased that Rachel enjoyed the show so much that she decided to book The Zoots to perform on their wedding day.
Yesterday was so fantastic, Our 1960’s show went down so well, we were exhausted.
We stayed at a B&B close to the venue, which Kevin has kindly arranged for us.
As we weren’t far from my parents in Lancashire, we decided to meet up and have a day out with the Lowthers at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
We had a lovely day in the sunshine going on rides, and hanging out with my family. It also happened to be my mums birthday, so I was really pleased that I was able to celebrate the day with her.
Hellllo Saturday, Hello early start!
Today though, we’re up bright and early and heading to a beautiful village called Wilton, in Wiltshire. Just 30 minutes drive from Zoots HQ. We’re performing for Sofia & Richard on their wedding day. Continue reading
It’s April and we’ve heard there’s snow falling somewhere, but it looks pretty nice here at Zoots HQ in Wiltshire. We’re up and ready early today, as we have a long trip ‘to the north’ today! We’re performing at Lizzie & Will’s wedding at the (I think you’ll agree) very amazing Colshaw Hall in Cheshire, just look how perfect it is! Continue reading
This weekend we said hello to April as we headed to Kent to perform at Nikki’s 40th birthday party in Aylesford in Kent. Nikki and Simon first saw The Zoots at Colin O’Rourke’s 50th Birthday party in Gillingham way back in 2013. Nikki used to work with Jane O’Rourke (Colin’s wife) at Medway Hospital and have known each other for years.
Luckily for us Nikki chose The Zoots to entertain her guests at the big birthday bash!
We just love the weekend. We’re usually off galavanting around the country, or the globe, performing at all sorts of places. And today is no different. We’re off to Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire to at the Golf Captain’s farewell dinner at West Herts Golf Club. Lee is the current Captain of the golf club; he will be handing over to the next Captain at the end of March, so this dinner and evening of music is to celebrate! 🙂
Hello! Me again,
Its been a crazy few months in Zoots world, we were touring non stop from November to the beginning of 2016 and we’ve moved our HQ. We’ve found an article from last November about our excellent cruise to Malta, Barcelona and Cagliari.
I hope you enjoyed our blog from December about our performance in the Broadway Melodies Theatre. When we weren’t busy onstage with our 1960’s show, we were fortunate enough to have some time off to explore the places which we stopped in, boy we’ve been very lucky Zoots this year, and we’ve visited some amazing places. Today I want to tell you a little bit about where we went, and share with you some photos we took on our travels in late November. Continue reading
Ok, so we’ve been back three days and I think we’ve just about recovered from what must have been our BEST shows ever, on board the Rhapsody of The Seas.
It began at Zoots HQ in Wiltshire of course, where most of our stories begin. We’ve had a busy few months performing at lots of events including Natalie & Rhys’ wedding, our awesome halloween show at Stamford Corn Exchange, as well as lots of other performances we just really haven’t had the time to tell you about. You may remember from our latest band blog post, we’re moving house, as well as having a full diary of performances and taking bookings well in to 2017, we’re pretty busy! So if you’re thinking about booking The Zoots, we’d recommend getting in touch asap!
Wow. It’s autumn already. You may have noticed we’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front, our bad. We’ve been so busy. Like really so busy. We’ve not even had chance to tell you about some of the awesome things The Zoots have been doing. We’ve not filled you in on the pretty spectacular and very colourful wedding of Tara & Vig at the stunning Boreham House, back in August (was it really August?!). Nor have we had a minute to stop and mention just how fantastic Laura & Andy’s wedding at Walton Castle was (we played in a turret!!) and we’ve just not sat down to really soak up how much we enjoyed performing for Emma & Lee at their beautiful wedding at the Moonraker in Wiltshire.
