Hello Sunday…! Yesterday we had a wicked awesome night dressing up as ‘The Glam Rocks‘ for Amanda’s party in Swindon. The night before that we we’re allllllll that way, over there, in Suffolk for Ed’s birthday party, which was…nothing short of immense. And today, well today is the icing on the cake of our deliciously wild weekend. We’re heading to Cornwall to perform for the totally gorgeous Amie & Andy for their wedding. Continue reading
So this weekend has been preeeee-tay busy, but that’s how we like it. Last week we’re performing on the Allure of The Seas with our 1960s show. We arrived back yesterday to perform for Charlotte & Ian on their wedding day at Westonbirt House, it was brilliant. And today is the real cherry on the icing of our perfect weekend, we we’re performing at Ben, our lead guitarist’s, sisters wedding day!!! We been lucky enough to meet Tamzin and Dan at a few gigs over the years we’ve been playing with Ben, and we instantly loved them. So when they asked us to perform for them on their most special of special days, we jumped at the chance. Continue reading
Friday the 29th of May 2015 is sunny, bright and lovely. It’s a typically gorgeous spring-almost-summer day in the UK. There are a few fluffy clouds littered across the sky, the sun stretching out it’s rays as it shines brightly, warming the ground below, for the first time in a few days. The weather is perfect. And we know today will be perfect.
Today it’s Tuesday. It’s 6am and Zoots HQ is a hive of activity. Last minute packing, quick cups of teas, early morning showers and the packing of the Zootmobile, are all happening on this early May Tuesday. The grass is dewy and spirits are high. We’re looking forward to the day ahead.
Only this Saturday we performed for Emily & Jack on their wedding day, and the weekend before we had a blast performing for those dancing Queens in Little Hadham at the charity bash in aid of NeST. Needless to say it’s been a busy few weeks of performances.
The early start this Tuesday morning was down to performing on our very first Royal Caribbean cruise of the season. We we’re getting ready to catch a flight to Pisa to meet the Allure of The Seas, THE BIGGEST CRUISE SHIP IN THE OCEAN! We were joining the ship to perform with our pretty popular 1960s show, more about that later. Now, we’re Gatwick bound, brushing up on our Italian in preparation for our night in Pisa. The Zoots perform at Francesca and Rory Millar’s wedding at Barrow Hill in Milborne Port 9th May 2015
On Saturday 9th of May we had the pleasure of performing for Francesca and Rory’s wedding. We had a fantastic journey early in the morning in our new Mercedes 6 wheeler ‘The White Knight’. We travelled south through the windy roads beneath Marlborough and eventually drove past the majestic Stonehendge. Most people drive quite slow to have a quick look at the amazing structure which was built 5000 years ago, we had a good look too! Continue reading
Hello early morning Sunday. And it is very very early for us, or indeed anyone. We had a super time last night performing for Amy & Ian’s on their wedding day at the Assembly Rooms in Bath. It really was brill. We arrived back to Zoots HQ at around 2am and began to prepare for the next adventure…France! And we’re leaving in a matter of hours. We packed and packed and checked and checked again. We did it all. Phew. We could have 2 hours sleep before our taxi was due to arrive. TWO. Or ‘none’ hours sleep was the case for Zoots lead guitarist Ben. We were tired sleepy grumpy bed hair heads when 6am came and our perky taxi driver greeted us. Ahead lay a 3 hour journey to London Southend Airport. Continue reading
On Saturday 27th December The Zoots performed at Laura & Sam Wallace’s wedding reception at Chiswell Street Dining Rooms part of the prestigious 5 star Montcalm Hotel in central London. The impressive 17th Century building was once owned by the Whitbread Brewery and one of the first mass production breweries in England. The style and decoration throughout the hotel oozed class and the staff were extremely helpful. We met Sam and Laura a few months before the big day to discuss the plans and the load in to make sure everything flowed like clockwork on the night. Below is a picture of the venue on the day and back in the day. I also got a sneaky shot of the reception staff who kindly opened up the doors for us to load in our equipment.
The air is fresh and clear. It’s not raining. Tired leaves are making their way to the ground having done their bit for summer. Crunch crunch crunch under our feet. It’s autumn. Our coats and hats are on and we’re at Zoots HQ here in Wiltshire. We’ve had a super productive week making plans for 2015, which is going to be our busiest year ever.We are feeling good and happy following on from our performance last week at Cat & Phil’s wedding at The Grand Hotel in Leicester. We’re ready to go, we jump in the band van, start it up and we’re on our way! The roads are quiet. We make good time. It’s getting dark early. It’s Saturday the 1st of November 2014 and Dan & Lindsay are getting married!

When searching ‘wedding band’ on the Internet, Google churns up over 6,640,000 in just under 0.7 seconds…Here we’ve written an A-Z guide for what to look for when choosing a wedding band and having live music at your wedding or event.
Maybe it’s the shorter days, the slight drop in temperature, or the fact that we are so so busy which is making the days fly by. Was is really a week ago we were performing for Victoria & Piers at their wedding at Priston Mill in Bath? Aye it was. *wipes forehead and exhales*. What a night that was. Read the blog about it here.
Today we’re headed to Leicester. We’re performing for a very lovely couple, Catherine & Phil. Let’s flash back for a minute. It’s Saturday. I’m pretty sure it’s November or maybe it’s December 2013. We’re at gig. It’s a 60’s themed night. The room is packed. And I mean packed. I think the ceiling is sweating. It’s so 60’s, we could actually be in the 196o’s. Somewhere under the the bopping bodies there is a dance floor and perhaps a carpet of sorts, but I can no longer see it. People are dancing dancing dancing. In the crowd around are Cat & Phil and they are loving it loving it loving it. They smile at us. We smile back. They like us. We like them. They say hello. We wipe the sweat from our brows and say hello back. They would like to book us for their wedding next year. We are happy. Continue reading
