We love Easter. We love the eggs, we love the fact that it’s spring, we love the time with family. And we especially love it this weekend as we have some very exciting gigs. On Friday we were at the Beacon Theatre in Wantage with out SOLD OUT public show. It went down brilliantly!
And today, on Easter Sunday, we’re headed to the Northbrook Park for the wedding of Bex & Jay. We’d been recommended to them by the Kolesars, after they booked us for Steph and Tim’s wedding in Henley in 2014!
We arrived early at Northbrook Park, as Jay & Bex had asked if we could set up before the wedding breakfast.
The room looked incredible.
I just loved the cheese cake, and the beautiful flowers everywhere. The natural light coming in to the space was just stunning and the room was perfect!
After setting up and sound-checking, we headed to Groomsman Jimmy’s accommodation to warm up, rest and relax for a few hours before our show. This was a really wonderful space for us to use, meaning we could rehearse, get changed and have a cup of tea before our performance, it really made all the difference! 🙂 Some of the guests were staying on site overnight in these very cool apartments.
Huge thanks to Nigel here and the wonderful team at JACARANA catering who had made us a super delicious veggie lasagne which kept us going the whole night! They ran a really slick operation, Nigel was totally on the ball and you could just tell you were in good hands. If you get a chance to book Nigel and his team, you should! Thank you so much.
After a few hours, they were ready for us!
Jay & Bex had chosen lots of songs from our repertoire for us to perform. We included as many of them as we could.
We ended the night with a special request Knocking on Heaven’s Door.
Thank you so much to Jay & Bex for choosing The Zoots to be their wedding band. Bex and Jay were really just lovely. It was so nice to finally meet them and their wonderful friends. We really enjoyed performing for such a friendly and beautiful couple. Thank you for having us.
