70s tribute show
We had been working very hard to get our ‘Sounds of the 70s’ show ready following our one hour show at Blackpool Tower Ballroom in April for Blackpool Rox. This was to be our new 90 minute show and there were lots of new song additions to the show including our new costumes. Luckily for us photographer Graham Huntley was on site to take most of these fab photos. Thank you Graham! 70s tribute show
After applying large quantities of make up and having a portion of chips we were ready to take the stage at Eastbourne Bandstand. We made our way through a delighted and surprised audience to the Eastbourne Bandstand stage.
We played so many songs we hadn’t played for a while but the crowd loved us, the response was tremendous! So many hit songs and the Eastbourne crowd new every single word; Sweet home Alabama, Alright Now by Free,Video killed the Radio star by Buggles, Get it on by TREX and the last ever number one of the 1970s; Another brick in the Wall (Part II) by Pink Floyd.
It was getting so hot Tommy and Jamie had to take their jackets off which got a big cheer from the crowd. We performed Le Freak by Le Chic and Dancing Queen by Abba only for the second time, we were concentrating so hard but they went down really well. Lots of people in the crowd were playing air guitar!
Having done so much rehearsing for the show it was fantastic to perform the new songs to such a responsive audience! We had everyone singing along to the likes of Sweet, Hot Chocolate, Mud, The Jacksons and James Brown.

For the finale we sang American Pie by Don McClean and everyone in the whole of Eastbourne sang along to every single word. It was an amazing feeling after the show. We really gave it our all and after wearing those silver heels for the whole show I couldn’t wait to take them off. It was lovely to see all of Tommy’s family at the show, here we are with Tommy’s Mum, Dad, Auntie and Uncle or dressed in ZOOTS T-shirts!
Thank you so much to everyone at Eastbourne Bandstand, Phil, Elaine, Harry and all the staff working on the night. All the staff worked so hard to make sure the evening was a huge success!
