Norden Farm has always been a special venue for me, I used to be able to walk there when I lived in LIttlewick Green when I first started The Zoots. I watched The Hamsters and Big Boss Man there and used to go for drinks there. At the time we were doing most of our shows overseas and even though we really wanted to play, it didn’t really matter but I was aware we couldn’t stay overseas forever. We managed to perform our first show at Norden Farm in 2017, 8 years after we formed and 7 years of trying to get booked there . You can read about that show on our blog
We have been playing Norden Farm every 18 months or so since and have SOLD OUT every single time!
This time we were playing with Jamie Cook on lead guitar and Charlie Gregory who had both not played there before. It was Neils second time and mine and Harriets 5th!
It is always a very special show for us having performed there in 2017 (debut performance) 2018 (Winter holiday show) 2021 (Post-lockdown return) 2025 (Valentine’s Day show) 2026. It was a venue we always had ambitions of playing when it was first built in 1998. I had performed at Altwood School which is just next door in an assembly on my album tour in 2005 and I used to play Hockey with Maidenhead and Bray too.
It was very special to perform with Jamie Cook, we performed around 120 shows together on tour with The Bootleg Sixties between 2022-2025. We spent alot of time together on tour and it has brilliant to have Jamie as part of a few Sounds of the 60s shows after the tours.
On sound we had Matt Rogers from Epic Production who also triggered the videos too. We did a fairly different set from the last time including Hard to Handle, a Who Medley, small Faces Medley anda Kinks medley where Charlie and Neil Hopkins changed round.
We hope to go back to Norden Farm in another 18 months potentially to do two shows in a day or two in a row as we are doing at a few venues in 2027.
Thank you so much for reading, watching , looking and most of all for your support. We are an independent band and we try to keep the costs of shows to a minium by booking theatres direst. We thank our loyal fans for helping us to get bookings by asking their local theatres. Booking through an agent as good as it is will add another £5-10 per ticket.
Lots of love
Jamie Goddard
