The Zoots in Montenegro

We’ve just (last week, sorry we’ve been busy) returned from Barcelona, but out story today begins in Montenegro, where we headed a few Mondays ago. Kotor to be precise. With a population of of around 13,510 and a town centre steeped in history, Kotor is a lovely place to visit and a place we were looking forward to going back there.

Let’s start at Zoots HQ here in Wiltshire. Here we all are. Just look at our excited little faces, very much looking forward to our trip and then at Heathrow, still very excited, drinking our bottles of water so we stay hydrated. #important

We had a lovely time at Heathrow, grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying some classic band banter. #lols Before we knew it, it was time to board the plane. Drummer Simon looked like a super star in his sunglasses. #raybon Until he fell asleep that is. #tired The flight was good and the view was lovely. #mountains

Before we knew it, we’d arrived in Montenegro, at Tivat airport. Thanks to Montenegro Airlines for being super and letting us take our guitars onboard. #loveyouguys Ben and I spent some time getting some good photos of Montenegro. Sites at the airport included, a plant, some scaffolding, 3 yellow trucks and some people in hi-vis jackets indicating the direction we should go. #photographers

It was a short journey to Kotor from the airport. We enjoyed the cool breeze of the AC in the taxi, whilst chatting merrily about what we’d do that evening. #happybunnies. We arrived at our hotel, it was lovely. We checked in and went for a short stroll around Kotor. I took this cool photo of the boys with the lovely mountains in the distance, I was going for a boy band vibe. #backstreetsback #4years

We enjoyed a short walk to Kotor, taking in the sights and enjoying the warmth of the evening. Lead guitarist Ben (biker boy) fitted right in, in Kotor.

We enjoyed a nice dinner in Kotor, before heading back to our hotel for a fairly early night in this exciting, new place. The next day began early, and began well. We had a delicious breakfast of omlettes, cereal and fresh fruit at our hotel. We had some time before the ship, The Brilliance of The Seas, was due to dock in port, so we headed into Kotor centre to tackle, THE BIG CLIMB up the BIG MOUNTAIN. And so our ascent began, the views were spectacular.

After the mountainous climb, we descended for a nice glass of fresh lemonade, before heading back to our hotel to grab our things and make our way to The Brilliance of The Seas, where we would be performing our show this evening. After a short time to settle in, we headed to the theatre to set up and soundcheck. We love performing our sixties show in the theatre onboard the ship. The theatre can hold around 1,500 people, and we just love performing to a full house!
