Hello January,

And today, the 11th of January brings very sad news of the death of a Legend, David Bowie. A true inspiration to so many, words I write here cannot do this hero justice.
This article from the Guardian is a beautiful write up. I also just adored the homage to Bowie paid in this organ recital at Kelvingrove in Glasgow. And I just love this photo (above) drawn by my very old school friend Chris Nash (Nash Draws), with a flare for words as well as illustration Chris writes,

“Well, what to say….I started this piece on Friday, inspired by listening to Blackstar and attempting to contemplate how a 68 year old could have created such an astonishing and contemporary record. I’m now on my tenth listen and trying to contemplate how a dying 68 year old managed such a feat. There’s one thing I’m sure of now though…he knew it was an ending. And what a piece of art to go out on! A hero and an inspiration forever.

“Oh, I’ll be free
Just like that bluebird
Oh, I’ll be free
Aint that just like me?”

RIP”

The words, photos and memories flooding the Internet have lead to a day of contemplation and appreciation for a musical fashion icon. We’re so happy to have lived in a time when David Bowie was. When he was making music, making statements, making them loud and clear. Creating music which spoke to so many. We owe him so much. Thank you for everything Bowie, and RIP.
