Party band Maidenhead

Christine first came to see the band with my Uncle Robert in 2010 on their first date at The Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell. After a happy first date and a further five years together with my ‘Uncle Rob’, he sadly passed away in 2015 with cancer. Uncle Rob was an amazing man and we all miss him so much. Despite my Uncle’s passing, Christine has remained part of the family and been a huge support. Along with her family and friends she has continued to follow the party band in Maidenhead as well as our shows all around the country.

Christine has been a huge support for the band, driving for hours to see us and ALWAYS telling everyone how fantastic we are.  Last September we performed at my cousins (Ben and Vicki’s) wedding which was a huge honour. Read the Blog here. We were equally honoured to be performing for Christine’s 60th at Bird’s Hill Golf Club and had booked in about 2 years in advance! With so many people we knew in the audience we were under pressure to put on a fabulous performance! There would also be some of our biggest ‘fans’ in attendance!

Here are some of my relatives and extended family who were at the party, first my cousins; Amy and Vicki either side of their mum and birthday girl Christine. In the masks are Christine’s immediate family.

Here is a picture of my cousins Mark and Claire with my Auntie Doreen and Uncle Nobby, then a picture of my other cousin Matt, my Auntie June and Auntie Doreen. The third picture is of my cousin Amy, Auntie Doreen and my cousin Claire.

Here is my cousin Vicki with her husband Ben, we played their wedding in September at Grovefield House.  They are great supporters of the band and have driven up and down the country on countless occasions to see us play. Ben is a real character and he got involved in the performance throughout the night. He even tried to play three guitars at once!

The first part of the show Tommy played with the double bass as requested by Christine. There were lots of familiar faces in the audience, even though some of the masks disguised the beautiful faces.

Christine had requested that Harriet sang Nancy Sinatra’s ‘Boots are made for walking’  which everyone enjoyed and sang along to. Make sure you check out Harriet’s artwork called Made by Harriet.

Band in Berks

The second half was tremendous fun, we performed Pirates of the Caribbean and the guests had what seemed like a rehearsed pirate dance to it, which was brilliant! We also performed Hot Love by Marc Bolan and TREX which we hadn’t played in a while.

Everyone enjoyed the limbo especially my cousin Ben (or was it Harry Hill?) and we even had a conga too! Unfortunately my Mum couldn’t join in as she has just had surgery on her feet. My Mum was clapping along though!

party band

Towards the end of the evening I was joined on stage by my cousin Amy which was great fun. She has been to so many of our shows, she know the words for songs better than I do!

Here’s me singing with my brother Martyn. I started off my career playing in bands with Martyn, our first band was called Wicked Lester which we started at school, I was only 11 years old! When then had a band called Cobweb Strange which is the black and white photo. Yes we look pretty different now!

Thank you to Christine for being a fantastic Auntie and for choosing. It was a fantastic evening and it was great to see some family and friends I hadn’t seen for a long time. Happy birthday Christine!

Thank you so much to Anthony Humphrey for the majority of these photos. The Zoots for the party!

Thank you so much to The Zoots Jamie, Harriet, Ben, Simon Tommy and Ed on sound.
