We just love the weekend. We’re usually off galavanting around the country, or the globe, performing at all sorts of places. And today is no different. We’re off to Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire to at the Golf Captain’s farewell dinner at West Herts Golf Club. Lee is the current Captain of the golf club; he will be handing over to the next Captain at the end of March, so this dinner and evening of music is to celebrate! 🙂
Lee saw us almost a year ago, when we performed for Stuart & Dani’s wedding at Grims Dyke Hotel in North London. It was a great golf themed wedding, where we had a total blast. There was a minion cake, and some beautiful colourful flowers. We even had a guest singer join us to perform ‘Wonderwall’, on the night. Here is Lee in action. We knew by the photo, Lee was going to be good fun.
We set off around 230pm to Rickmansworth, allowing some additional time for any traffic bugs and the dirt track we encountered on the way.
We arrived at the golf club, woweeee, it was incredible.
We loaded in all our equipment and fitted behind the dancefloor.
The room was bright and all set up for a lovely evening at West Herts Golf Club.
We soundchecked and got all the levels ready for the show. We went through a new 80s mix of Walking on Sunshine into Town Called Malice as well as I’ll be there for you by The Rembrandts.
We went back stage (the ladies changing room) and had a lovely selection of sandwiches which was provided by Richard, Lorna and all the very helpful restaurant staff.
While we were backstage, the guests started to arrive.
Here’s Harriet and Jamie with the lovely Dani and Stuart Kent whose wedding we played at nearly one year ago. Read about their wedding reception here. A special happy first wedding anniversary to them!
Thank you so much to Lee, for choosing The Zoots to be your band for the evening. We really had the best night ever.
“Jamie & Harriet, Many thanks to you and your band on Saturday night. I was back at the club on Sunday and spoke to a lot of people who attended and they all said how great the evening was and especially the band. So the name ‘The Zoots’ is definitely known at West Herts now and I also know a few of the members who shared the great evening on Twitter and Facebook etc, so the great feedback will spread.
It was a great evening for me and I thank you once again and hope to see you again in the future.
Thank you so much to Simon, Ben and Dan from The Zoots for doing a fantastic job.
