Wedding band Wiltshire
…Being a wedding band we are very lucky. We get to see lovely places in Maidenhead, Windsor and wedding venues all over London and the UK. Today (Sunday) we got to meet with two very lovely bride & grooms who we are performing for this year. If it’s possible, we like to meet beforehand to say hello, run through the plans and even visit the venue to make sure things run smoothly on the day.
At midday we ventured to Henley, to a private residence overlooking the river. What a breathtaking venue The lovely couple, Steph and Tim (and their Jack Russell Hugo), who we met last year are getting married there in June in a gorgeous marquee provided by those lovely chaps over at Inside Outside. Steph and Tim are just lovely. Although we’ve only met twice, we feel like we’ve known them an age and we are so very excited about performing for them. I was excited to hear Steph’s stories about planning the wedding and trying on dresses. All of their wedding suppliers have been booked based on recommendations from friends and family (this makes us feel all warm and lovely inside).
We walked through the stunning garden, talked about where to park and load in and where the marquee would be going. We also ran through timings for the evening, first dance and set up times. Steph and Tim gave us a songlist with songs they would like to be played. There are some awesome tracks on there! We’re also doing a very special customised first dance for them, so watch this space for when we blog about it later in the year! I can’t wait to see it all come together on the day.
Wedding band at Oakley Court Hotel
In the afternoon we ventured over to Oakley Court to meet with Juliette & Nicholas. We’re performing for them in May at the lovely Pangdean Barn . We performed there a few years ago and Pangdean very kindly included us as a recommended supplier on their website.
We met at Oakley Court as it was quite close for both parties to meet, as Jamie’s parents are based just down the road. Oakley Court is an amazing wedding venue too, we’ve been fortunate enough to perform there a few times! It was used to film the Dracula and Saint Trinian movie.
Juliette & Nicholas were so friendly and warm. It was great to be able to put faces to names and run through everything for the day. We ordered some tea (and I fell a little bit in love with those tea cosies) and got comfy and started to discuss weddings! Juliette had just been for a make up trial over at Bobbi Brown, she looked wonderful! I’m very tempted to book myself in for a lesson. We ran through plans for the day, arrival times and song choices. They have chosen some really great tracks and a really fab number for their first dance, a new one for us, but we’re so very excited about learning it. No spoilers here…watch this space to find out what they chose!
Juliette & Nicholas had some amazing stories about their travels which they shared with us, about their trip to South Africa, safaris, wild lions, elephants & buffalo! It was incredible hearing about them…and kinda makes me want to plan a trip to South Africa. Coincidently, as we were leaving we saw some lions in the garden at Oakley Court not quite as wild as your South African ones but we were very impressed.
It was so terrific to meet both couples being a wedding band, it was a nice way to spend our Sunday. We’re just so excited about performing for them. We really are so fortunate to be able to do what we do and meet such happy and friendly people along the way.
