We met Rob and Steph three years ago at Simon and Libby’s wedding wedding reception at Bowood House. After such an amazing wedding at the Wiltshire wedding venue, Rob and Steph wanted us to recreate the same party atmosphere and get all the guests involved.
Rob and Steph got married a couple of weeks before in Lake Como, Italy. Wow! The photos from the wedding were amazing! Not everyone could make the wedding in Lake Como so Celtic Manor golf club was the venue chosen for the UK wedding party.
We arrived at Celtic Manor and although it was cloudy with a light drizzle we were all in good spirits. Ben, Simon and Tommy had taken the time to learn Rob and Steph’s first dance ‘ Tenerife Sea’ written by Ed Sheeran / Snow Patrol which we ran though in soundcheck after we set up. Ben used his new acoustic guitar for the first time at one of our shows. It sounded great.
The vibes at the wedding were fantastic, everyone was really up beat and the atmosphere was brilliant. As soon as we finished the first dance everybody was up on the dance floor with Crazy Little thing called love by Queen which got everybody in the mood. We raced through an up tempo set with loads of party classics including Johnny B Goode, Mony Mony, I want you back, Get on up (like a Sex Machine), 500 miles and Stuck in the middle.
Harriet sang Le Freak by Le Chic for the first time and we had a ‘dance off’ between girls and boys which was great fun! The guests enjoyed a bit of limbo and interaction too!
Towards the end of the show, we had a picture taken with the lovely couple on the dance floor.
It was such a great honour to perform for Steph and Rob, they really looked after us with our big dressing room with a private bar, a buffet and a TV with live sport which Simon Small enjoyed. We were also provided with lots of coffee and tea which helped us to put on an energetic show. The staff at Celtic Manor Golf Club were all really nice and helped us beforehand and on the night.
Here’s what Rob the Groom had to say “Thank you so much for such an amazing night, you guys were incredible and this is a great reminder of a fantastic evening! Thank you again for learning and performing our first dance song ‘Tenerife sea’ it will be a moment we won’t ever forget and thankfully I don’t think I disgraced myself on the dance floor!! We hope to see you guys perform again soon ?”
