We love the weekend! We’re usually off somewhere amazing, meeting and playing for some wonderful people. Last weekend we had a total blast playing got Liz & Ian at their wedding at Fernhill Farm. And this weekend is no different; we’re heading to Oxfordshire to perform for Alice & Brett at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton.
We’ve been fortunate enough to perform at the Crazy Bear a few times over the years, in fact, we’re often recommended by the team at The Crazy Bear, which is just wonderful! If you’ve never been there, you should – just look how cool it is!
We were looking forward to meeting the bride and groom Alice & Brett, who we’d exchanged many an email with in the lead up to the big day. Alice looked just beautiful. We left lots of time for the Friday traffic, you never know what to expect! We arrived in good time and even managed a cup of tea before setting up as the newlyweds were enjoying the wedding breakfast with their guests. We were excited to be using our new drum skin:
After a short while, we were in! The room (and the cake) looked amazing.
We set up as the dance floor was being laid. For their first dance, Alice & Brett had Ray Charles’, ‘Come Rain or Shine’. It was lovely.
And to follow, Alice danced beautifully with her father Richard to Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I Do’ . A brilliant way to begin the evening.
Our set began around 9pm. We played loads of songs from our repertoire. Here is a video of the The Zoots performing Shout.
Thanks so much to Alice & Brett for choosing The Zoots to be their band for their wedding. We had such a great time, and can’t thank Alice and Brett enough for their warmth and kindness, and for arranging the lovely food and drink for us. And thank you too to the team at The Crazy Bear for being, as always, brilliant.
