This is the second part of the Blog for our Good Friday show at The Beacon in Wantage, (did you catch up with our antics in part 1?) The show was so good, and we had so many photos and videos from the night, that we had to put it in two parts! At the end of the first show, no one could quite believe what Jamie had done with his guitar! In the break we put on our new costumes which consisted of some Red Guards jackets, as featured in our photo shoot with Michael Randolph last summer. The set started with a new one for us; Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club band followed by ‘With a little help from my friends’ which were originally recorded 50 years ago!

One of the shows highlights was when we got Tommy’s Dad, George Lloyd up to play with us.

Harriet performed ‘Son of a preacher man’ for only the second time, it sounded really fantastic and thank you to singing coach Lucy Bosley for running it through with Harriet in the weeks leading up to the show.

Here is a fun clip form ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’ and guitar instrumental Miserlou. Our lead guitarist Ben Jones on form!

We enjoyed doing a few different songs to normal and loved the groovy ‘new’ vintage shirts.
The night ended with two encores to a standing ovation, it really was such an amazing night and great fun to wear the new costumes.

Thank you so much to Andy Shaw for taking the majority of the photos and helping with the merchandise table. Well done to Sam who played with The Zoots in the first half of the show and to Tom West who was the mastermind animation genius who did the Zoots animation introduction at the start of the show. Thank you to Tommy’s Dad George for getting up on stage!

Thanks so much to George and the sound team for doing such a fantastic job as always! Thank you to the The Zoots for working so hard, all of the time, thanks, Harriet, Tommy, Ben, Simon and Jamie

Thank you so much to everyone who came, it means the absolute world to have your support.

Lots of love from,

The Zoots

Hi Jamie/Harriet

Recently saw you at the Beacon,Wantage,Oxfordshire 14/04/2017. What an amazing show….i’m still on a high 3 days later!  I have a confession to make – this sounds awful, but have never heard of the Zoots until by chance i spotted an advert in my local paper the day before the concert…i really do need to get out more!  As i love 60’s music i decided to go along – luckily there were a few tickets left.
It was one of the best shows i’ve ever been to – have been to several 60’s shows/festivals around the UK but this was something else! Especially as you played my all time favourite track from that era – namely ‘My Girl’ by The Temptations, that’s worth the entrance fee alone!
In summing up you are all superb musicans, immensely talently, smartly dressed and above all genuinely nice people. Jamie even shook my hand when he came into the crowd towards the end…and i was sitting right at the back! Will definitely be going to future shows – have pencilled in Stamford [8 Sept] by coincidence will be going to Lincolnshire that weekend. Also Marlborough [27 Oct] + any more i can fit in!
Wishing you every success in the future.
Best Wishes….
Geoff Corker Faringdon,Oxfordshire

WOW! Now I know I say this every time we come to watch you guys but this was the best show EVER! Everyone was up dancing and so many smiley faces. The song choices were fabulous, Zara has asked that next time could you please sing ‘Mobile Phone’ as she knows all of the words now.

We can’t wait to see you when you next play in Wantage, or anywhere else that is within our driving distance.

    Lots of Love. xx
