80s tribute show
What a fantastic evening we had in Eastbourne performing our Sounds of the 80s tribute show at Eastbourne bandstand on Friday 27th April 2018. We were honoured to be chosen as the opening act for the season and despite the rain, it was an awesome night! We had two huge Rubix Cubes, fancy dress, Zoots say RELAX T-shirts, dancing, singing and even firework finale!
The 80s hold some of my fondest and earliest memories. The decade will always be my most treasured decade. Earlier in my career I was lucky enough to support some 80s legends including Nik Kershaw, T’PAU, Tony Hadley, Bananarama, Billy Ocean, Keith Harris and Orville, Chesney Hawkes and many more. I had been really looking forward to our first 80s show in a while and really enjoyed the preparation with the costumes and song choices.
After we set up all the equipment we had some lovely Fish and Chips (thank you so much to Elaine and Phil for organising this!). We then got out our 80s outfits and got ready for the show.

We started off the show in a ‘Back to the Future’ type introduction appearing through lots of smoke and running up to the stage through the sell out crowd. Thanks to the fantastic photographers Graham Huntley and Tony Bates we had plenty of photos to choose from!
We enjoyed songs from George Michael, A-Ha, Aerosmith, Wham, KC and The Sunshine Band, Kool and the Gang. Despite the rain, the sell out crowd were dancing and singing along from the start!
Here are some pictures of when we performed Africa by Toto.
The weather was not as nice as we hoped but the crowd were tremendous!
For the finale of the 80s tribute show we had members of the staff all dressed in their ZOOTS SAY RELAX T-shirts.
