1960s Tribute band
In March 2012, two years ago, The Zoots were chosen as the 1960s tribute band to perform at The Aldermore Conference at the Hilton in Manchester. It was a fantastic event with a British theme. We shared the stage with a London phone box and a London Taxi. There was also a victorian style fair in the foyer. The crowd were totally awesome, they danced all night and sang a long to every word! The Hilton in Manchester (also known as Beetham Tower) is the ninth tallest building in England and the tallest building in the UK outside London (as of 2014). It has 47 floors and on the 23rd floor lives ‘Could 23’ a very trendy bar which the band checked out in the break. The building creates its own hum which is believed to be the note of B (below middle C). The views from the Hilton are stunning, you can see the see of Coronation Street as well as The Blackpool Tower and Liverpool Cathedral. Beetham Tower cost £150 million to construct and is one of the most unique modern buildings The Zoots have performed in.
