Hello weekend, and hello sunshine, sort of. We’ve just returned from a few days overseas, flying to Serbia, then to Kotor, and back from Barcelona. We had a brilliant show in a 900 seater theatre, it was really great (read about it here). But now, were glad to be home. We had a productive practice yesterday, running through some harmonies and some new songs (watch this space). Today, though, were off to Bicester to perform for Kristi and Nick on their wedding day at The Tythe Barn.
We love the weekend! We’re usually off somewhere amazing, meeting and playing for some wonderful people. Last weekend we had a total blast playing got Liz & Ian at their wedding at Fernhill Farm. And this weekend is no different; we’re heading to Oxfordshire to perform for Alice & Brett at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton. Continue reading

Emma was in charge of booking a band for the bash, and she chose us, having been her wedding band a little over a year ago! We remember the night well, in the gorgeous setting of the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton (you should really go there, it’s amazing).
Today is pretty special, we’re off to the British Medical Association in Tavistock Square, London for the wedding of the very gorgeous Natalie & Rhys. Natalie & Rhys spotted us at the very brilliant wedding of Cat & Phil, remember that? Over a year ago, but still fresh in our minds. We did a lot of Zeppelin that night, which went down a storm!
We don’t often head to the big smoke as we’re performing lots over seas and in our home county of Wiltshire as well as having lots of bookings throughout the UK. We were excited. The feeling was palpable. Zoots Drummer Andy lives in the big smoke and told us it would be OK as we navigated our way through the labyrinth of little roads and lots of traffic. Continue reading
OK, so today is a preeeeety special day. We’re always very excited and very fortunate that lots of couples choose us, The Zoots, to be there wedding band which on a day they’ll never forget. It really is a very lovely thing and gives us a very warm feeling to be part of something so memorable.
But today is a little bit different. Today one of The Zoots drummers, Simon Small is getting married! We’ve known Si for three years now and he plays with us whenever Master East isn’t available. We just love playing with Si, he’s great fun and very talented. Over the years, we’ve got to know Si and Emily as a couple and we’re really lucky to be able to call them our friends. So when Si popped the question on the Christmas Eve 2013 to his beautiful girlfriend Emily, we were absolutely thrilled to hear the news. They are just perfect together. We jumped to offer to perform for them both on their most special of special days. They said yes and the countdown to the wedding began. Continue reading
Last week we had a brilliant time at Sophie and Charles wedding at Marden Manor. It really was fantastic, at one of the most beautiful marquees we’ve ever seen! The week flew by and before we knew it, it was Saturday and we we’re heading East to perform at Steve & Laura at the very famous, Pinewood Studios. It was an early start for us as Steve & Laura wanted the band to be set up before the wedding breakfast took place. We had tired sleepy eyes but we were feeling like happy and content Zoots as we set off in our still very slow van. Continue reading
I just love April. The rapeseed is out in full bloom and colours the landscape a glowing yellow. Birds are reappearing and flowers pop up in the garden. I love the smell of freshly cut grass and I get all excited about the thought of summer! I love being out in the countryside at this time of year. We’re fortunate as we get to see ahhhh-lot of the country (and indeed the world) on our travels. It’s a wonderful time to get married. Wiltshire is where we begin our journey as we travel the short distance to Marden Manor for the wedding of Charles and Sophie.
It’s 9am, we’re up early, bound for Camber! Today is the 11th of October (*cough* my birthday), the day of Liz and John’s wedding! Coffee is the drink of the morning, and lots of it following our gig in Plymouth the last night. A gallon of coffee, a few glasses of juice, a couple of boiled eggs and a bowl of porridge later, we’ve jumped in the band van and were raring to go! It looks kinda rainy-sunny-rainy-sunny. It’s just Zoots lead guitarist Ben, Jamie & I this morning. Drummer Mike and Bass player Stuhoney will be joining us later on for the evenings celebrations. Continue reading
Hellllo Friday! The end of a working week for some, the start of an awesome weekend performing for us! And this week, we’re in Bicester. And it is lovely. We’re performing for Claire & Dan, a gorgeous couple and their lovely wee lad George. He’s a sweetie. I was lucky enough to meet Claire a few weeks earlier to discuss all things wedding! We met at their wedding venue, The Tythe Barn. What a venue! The gardens were gorgeous, the driveway immaculate and the barn itself was just wow! I’ve taken some photos which fail to do it justice at all, it was stunning! Continue reading
It’s the 13th of September and we’re on our way to Exeter. We’re performing at The Great Barn and boy, are we are excited. I mean just look at it!
Tim & Sarah got i touch back in May this year to see if we were available to perform on their wedding day. We consulted our show dates and yipeeeee we were available! We said yes and they said yes! THIS WAS HAPPENING. Continue reading
