60s theatre show

Sounds of the 60s with The Zoots, Band from Wiltshire, Sixties theatre show, 1960s tribute band

October saw The Zoots debut public show in Yorkshire at the YMCA Theatre with the Sounds of the 60s show. The Zoots had played at a wedding reception at the Settringham Estate the night before so we stayed over night and travelled the 30 minute journey to Scarborough at 10am. We were really looking forward to performing at the YMCA Theatre in Scarborough very close to where The Beatles had played on the 11th December 1963 and some 54 years later THE ZOOTS were playing there too!

This week was so brilliant. It was The Zoots‘ first theatre show with our new bassist Tommy Lloyd. We’ve spent a lot of time at ‘The Farm’, practicing; running through our four part harmonies, working on some new songs and some new moves! Many thanks to Andy and Deb and of course Tommy for putting us up, (or for putting up with us)! Continue reading

Shrove Tuesday and team Zoots are making their way up the M5 and M6 towards Cheshire. This is our 2nd date of our series of “Showstoppers” dates we are booked for all over the UK. Our first Showstopper was alst Tuesday at Corton Coastal Resort, you can read all about it here.  We were looking forward to another amazing performance.

The Zoots first performed at Alvaston Hall back in 2010 so I was looking forward to returning and playing in a familiar venue. But as we drove in, I was really puzzled! I recognised the hotel building but everything else I could see was brand new! Later on I found out that Alvaston Hall had, had £12.5 million refurbishment in 2014. It now looked fantastic!

Hello Monday.

We have some GREAT NEWS. We are performing at The Beacon Wantage on Friday the 10th of April 2015 with our 1960’s show. It’s going to be totally rockin’. We’ll be playing 2 hours of 60’s music, complete with costumes and some questionable dance moves. Singing along, dancing and moving is encouraged throughout. You’ll hear the hits from the greats of the 1960’s such as, Elvis, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones and loads more! There are just so many!! So, if you love music, love the sixties, love dancing and generally love having a good time, get your tickets now! They’re selling like hot cakes so you might wanna be quick.

The Beacon Wantage is a pretty cool space, which, in 2014 underwent a huge refurb, so it looks very amazing. There’s a fab bar and cafe area and loads of parking!

So if you’re thinking of booking us for your wedding, party, event, this would be a great opportunity for you to come and watch us perform. Or maybe you’ve already seen us or booked us and want to see us again!

1960’s attire is thoroughly encourage so ladies don on those white knee high boots, start spraying those beehives into place, and airing out the mini skirts. Men, grab your wild crazy prints, stripes and flamboyant patterns or even your crushed velvet or slim fit, tailored suits as this is a night of sixties to remember!

See you all there!

Love,

The Zoots

You can get your tickets at The Beacon, Wantage website.
