Lady Sasima is an amazing woman from Thailand who has been a very successful business woman since the 1960s. She is most well known in the UK for being the Co Chairwoman of Reading Football Club.
When Lady Sasima made her speech we couldn’t believe how good she looked! She was elegant, stylish and very well spoken. We all thought she looked like she was in her 30’s, it really was astonishing.
Here is our bassist Tommy, he brings a fantastic energy to the band, performing on stage and giving his all at every show. Tonight was an extra special performance for The Zoots and Tommy was there to entertain the audience. Tommy started the evening with the double bass which he has only been playing since last year! When Tommy is not playing with The Zoots he runs his own Music School Blueberry Music in Wiltshire.
The Zoots have been performing at parties for several years but this was one of the most prestigious of the year.
As the family had asked us to play through dinner we had to try extra hard to entertain the audience. The photographer Jeremy Nako from Nak photography managed to capture the moment when I did my windmill guitar move!
Jeremy the photographer also takes photos at weddings and we really appreciate that Jeremy sent us these photos from the evening. Jeremy captured Simon playing his Ludwig drum kit in some great poses. For more information on Simon and his drum lessons he offers in Wiltshire check out his website.
Harriet sang her song ‘Boots are made for Walking’, I’m sure she got the loudest cheer of the evening! Harriet is also a very successful artist and has achieved nearly 700 sales in her first year since she started drawing on the back of airplane tickets at airports when we were touring. Harriet’s website is called ‘Made by Harriet’. She has been painting, drawing, creating pins, bags, T-Shirts and selling lots of gifts for all occasions.
The Zoots party band in Bray
It was such a prestigious moment to be performing for Lady Sasima. Her house was on the river not too far from where we had a small fishing boat when I was a child. I even had friends who used to live two doors down from Lady Sasima so it made the performance even more special and bought back some wonderful memories.
Ben was on the left side of the stage away from Jeremy so there’s not too many pictures of Ben from the night. When Ben isn’t playing with The Zoots he teaches guitar from home in Trowbridge in Wiltshire . Ben is an amazing guitarist and he has taught 100’s of students from all over the South West.
The Zoots performed on stage that was provided by Robbie and Dan from ITM AV. Robbie and Dan also provided the lighting and the TV screens so we could show some of the videos from our Sounds of the 60s theatre show. Thank you so much to Robbie and Dan for all your assistance on the night. Special thanks to Emma G the event planner for bending over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed.
Thank for Lady Sasima and her family for choosing The Zoots to be the party band for the birthday party! It was an honour!
Special thanks to Jeremy Nako from www.NakPhotography.co.uk for all the photos
Thank you for reading! Love from Jamie Goddard
